Clockshop
Fund: $25,000
Clockshop believes in the power of contemporary art to connect people to the land on which they live. They commission new works by artists and writers, curate inclusive public programs about pressing political and environmental issues, and use collaboration to catalyze large institutions. They bring this mission to their partnership with California State Parks on the Bowtie Project, an underused industrial parcel along the Los Angeles River, and to Los Angeles State Historic Park in Chinatown. At the Bowtie, Clockshop offers curated public programs and artworks on 18 acres directly on the Los Angeles River, and is currently leading the outreach and engagement efforts for the future state park. Since 2014, Clockshop has executed over 100 artist projects, performances, and public events at the Bowtie that have brought thousands of people to the site.
