The Compton Art & History Museum, powered by Color Compton, is a groundbreaking space that unites art, history, and community, amplifying the culture and stories of Black and Brown communities in Compton and greater South Los Angeles. At Home explores the deeply personal and evolving meanings of home across individuals and communities. More than a physical space, home holds culture, memory, identity, and belonging. The exhibition brings together work by local artists alongside contributions from the Compton Archive Collection, including photographs, oral histories, and artifacts that reflect how home is defined and experienced. Through photography, storytelling, and interactive elements, At Home invites visitors to reflect on what it means to feel grounded, to belong, and to carry home within oneself. Designed to feel familiar and lived-in, the space encourages connection, conversation, and reflection while centering the voices that shape our understanding of home.
