Museum of Jurassic Technology

Fund: $25,000

The Museum of Jurassic Technology (MJT) chronicles an uncommon history of expression and innovation in the arts, humanities, and sciences, with an emphasis on illuminating forgotten or little-known knowledge and beliefs, and honoring individuals who have remained unrecognized yet gone to great lengths in the service of unusual ideas. The MJT houses a broad and unusually democratic vision of human accomplishment with the mission of leading visitors from all walks of life to perceive their own creative potential in new ways. The MJT is currently preparing an exhibition dedicated to the Islamic geometries of al-Andalus; a music room inspired by the inventions of Renaissance scholar Athanasius Kircher, setting the stage for a yearlong series of compositions by experimental artists; and a greenhouse drawing on early Russian Cosmist designs for space stations.
