Los Angeles Nomadic Division
Fund: $25,000
Founded in 2009, Los Angeles Nomadic Division (LAND) is a nonprofit arts organization committed to presenting contemporary art in LA’s public sphere. Since its founding, LAND has presented over 160 discrete projects, presenting work by 575 artists. LAND works with artists, curators, and community-based organizations to produce free, museum-quality public exhibitions and programming across Los Angeles and beyond. LAND circumvents barriers that keep broader audiences from encountering contemporary art in their everyday lives. LAND believes innovative public art can help us see ourselves and our neighbors in new ways, expanding our shared capacity for creative dialogue and collaboration across communities. LAND provides artists with the networks and resources to scale their practice, working outside of traditional time and space constraints, often presenting work that is newly-commissioned or still in formation, emboldening possibilities for risk taking and experimentation.
