The mission of the Vincent Price Art Museum (VPAM) at East Los Angeles College (ELAC) is to serve as a vital educational resource for the diverse audiences of the College and its surrounding communities, including East Los Angeles and the western San Gabriel Valley, through the exhibition, interpretation, collection, and preservation of works in the visual arts.
Emerging as a leader in Latinx contemporary art, VPAM addresses diversity, inclusion, and equity in the arts and museums by centering the art of Latinx, Black, Indigenous and People of color (BIPOC) in its exhibitions, public and educational programs, publications, and partnerships and by organizing workforce development programs with ELAC to create more pathways for underrepresented emerging professionals to pursue rewarding careers in the museum field.
