Coaxial Arts Foundation is an artist-run non-profit organization dedicated to experimental video, sound and performance art, and the community that surrounds the creation and presentation of this work in Southern California. Started by artists for artists, Coaxial functions on a fundamental principle: we aim to support working artists within an essential framework that promotes and generates new works. Coaxial focuses on making and providing a space/forum for the creation of new projects, further experimenting and pushing what art is and its purpose. Over the past six years, Coaxial has hosted 32 artist residencies and over 250 programs, co-organized Femmebit Festival, and participated in the CURRENT: LA triennial produced by the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, in addition to providing studio space, technical support, and public exhibition space to showcase underground artists.
